The Producers

Tenuta la Giustiniana

The history of this company, or rather that of its last management, arises from a strong feeling of territorial synergy between two producers united by the same trust in the potential of a wine.

The estate, consisting of 110 hectares of land, has a history of more than a millennium behind it, which sees it disputed among the most important Ligurian families for its vocation to produce beautiful wines. We are in Rovereto di Gavi, in that Piedmontese Apennine branch where every vineyard knows how to marvel. It is therefore understandable the feeling of Magda Pedrini and Stefano Massone, two renowned winemakers of the area, who decided to embark together in the recovery of one of the main Gavi Docg wine companies.

In this magical place, tradition and innovation coexist in perfect symbiosis, coordinated by an ultra-rational method. Nothing is left to chance: 60 hectares of forest to preserve the wellbeing of the land, 10 of cultivation and the remaining 40 of perfect Cortese vineyards, almost maniacally reasoned, where gray Pliocene marls with loose sand (white soil) are alternated with rich iron clays (red soil).
The property is dominated by the wonderful villa in neoclassical style, built at the beginning of 1600 by the Giustiniani family (from which the estate takes its name) and in the basement of which is the ancient seventeenth-century cellar, recently restored through careful conservative restoration, in which time seems to have stopped. The vinification takes place in the modern winery of Capriata D'Orba which hosts the best of technology.
